Workshop: PCA, 18.11.2022, online

On 18.11.2022, an online meeting was held (via Microsoft Teams platform) to introduce Principal Components Analysis (PCA), which belongs to a group of chemometric methods that allow the identification of variability in an analyzed data set. In the Team Net project, this method is used to identify spectral differences between various types and subtypes of leukaemic cells and normal blood cells. The meeting was organized as part of the Team Net project and was led by members of the Team, Ola, Ada, Patrycja and Ania. The meeting was organized in the form of a online workshop.

Biostatistics in the analysis of spectroscopic data of biomedical samples, 21.10.2022, Faculty of Chemistry Jagiellonian University, A-00-1 B

On 21.10.22, the Faculty of Chemistry of Jagiellonian University hosted a workshop for students, entitled Biostatistics in the analysis of spectroscopic data of biomedical samples organized by the Raman Imaging Group. The aim of the workshop was to meet the needs of students who will soon face the challenge of writing their diploma thesis, analyzing the results, and presenting them during the defense of their undergraduate and graduate theses.

During the workshop, the research topics of the Team-Net project were presented, as well as many aspects of statistical analysis of results, data preparation, and processing, the use of scientific publication databases, citations articles, valuable functions of the text editor and ways of visualizing the results.

The workshops enjoyed considerable interest among students who will be awarded a certificate of participation.

Workshop: KMC analysis, 14.10.2022, online

On 14.10.2022, an online meeting for diploma students took place, which was focused on one of the chemometric methods, such as cluster analysis (CA). In the Team-Net project, CA is used to analyze the obtained Raman maps of single leukemic and normal cells. The meeting was organized as part of the Team Net project and was led by members of the Team, Ada, Ola, Patrycja, Sylwia and Ania. The meeting was organized in the form of an online workshop (via Microsoft Teams platform).

Workshop: Advanced chemometrics in spectra analysis, 3-4.10.2022, Kraków, JU

On 3-4.10.2022, ZOR was pleased to welcome Uladzislau Blazhko, a machine learning and deep learning specialist from the Biospectroscopy and Data Modeling Group at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Norwegian University of life Sciences lead by Professor Achim Kohler. Uladzislau gave lectures and tutorials focused o preprocessing of spectra, machine learning in spectra analysis and deep learning in spectra analysis. It was a great opportunity for us to explore chemometrics.

Workshop: Basics of PLS-DA analysis in PLS Toolbox software, 02.08.2022, online

On 02.08.2022 there was a training organized within the Team-Net project entitled "Basics of PLS-DA analysis in PLS Toolbox software", which was focused on the use of PLS Toolbox software for PCA and PLS-DA of Raman spectra of single cells. Training was carried out by Ania (part 1) and Ada (part 2).

Workshop: Where do the leukemic cells come from, what is their classification and why they are classified this way?, 05.07.2022, online

On 05.07.2022 there was a training organized within the Team-Net project entitled "Where do the leukemic cells come from, what is their classification and why they are classified this way?", which was focused on basics of biology of leukemia, classification of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (FAB, WHO). Training was carried out by dr n. med. Agatę Pastorczak (Medical University of Lodz.

Workshop: Basics of optical microscopy, 26.05 (part 1), 02.06.2022 (part 2), online

On 26.05.2022 (part 1) and 02.06.2022 (part 2) there was a training organized within the Team-Net project focusing on the basics of optics, imaging and confocal microscopy. The training was conducted by Dr. Piotr Wasylczyk (Division of Optics, University of Warsaw).

Workshop: The use of R language and R Studio package for spectroscopic analyses using chemometric methods, online

Between January and March, May, July and September 2022, dr Claudia Beleites, the specialist in chemometrics and main developer of hyperSpec data analysis package in R language gave us a serier of online lectures on data experiment design, data treatment and model validation that were followed by practical training in R environment.
