Idi Nuhu, a PhD student from the group of Prof. Patrick Kareru (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Nairobi Kenya East Africa) interns in our group from 21st October to 22nd November 2021 under the mentorship of Kamilla. Idi focuses on searching for active molecules from selected Kenyan Antimalarial plants species that could counteract the mechanism of action and lethal strain of Plasmodium falciparum malate quinoline oxireductase (pfmqo) an enzyme that is cited on the mitochondria of Plasmodium falciparum the major cause of malaria infection in sub-Saharan African endemic region. Idi is a recipient of World intellectual property Organization research fellowship 2020 and Coimbra group University scholarship 2021.
